Model limitation

, I would like to better understand the following model limitation
Forums:

This refers to the fact that the model allows for branches that extend laterally from a mainstem branch that can extend in the y-direction. So, by judicious application of branches, you can actually model a system in the x, y, and z dimensions. However, this is not fully 3D as the y-monentum equation is not solved. It's just that the x-momentum equation for another branch has been oriented in the y-direction. Here is an example of a mainstem branch oriented N to S and two side branches oriented E to W. In a fully 3D model, water movement in the two side branches would be due primarily to the solution of the y-momentum equation, whereas in W2 water movement is solved by the solution of the x-momentum equation. | |---------- | | |---------- | | Hope this explanation is somewhat clear.[addsig]
