Interpolation function

Hi all, The manual mentioned that there is an interpolation function for the various paramneters. But as i went through the software, i am not able to find this function. Can anyone tell me is there anyway except altering through the w2_con npt file, where i can find this function? Thanks With regards, george[addsig]

I am having the same problem. Let me know if you find an answer. Jon[addsig]

George, Jon The interpolation function is simply linear interpolation of the boundary conditions and forcing functions. You can either turn that OFF - and have step-function type inputs - or turn it on for interpolation between data points. Let me know if I can clarify further. Scott QuoteI am having the same problem. Can you tell me where to turn that function ON/OFF? I am not able to locate that function in the software. thks With regards, george[addsig]

George Look in the User Manual and look for key word 'Interpolation'. You turn this ON/OFF in the file w2_con.npt. I would recommend going over this file in detail suing Appendix C in the User's Manual. Scott[addsig]

George, The easiest way to find the interpolation controls is to edit the file w2_con.npt in notepad (or any other ASCII text editor). Search for "IC " (be sure to include the space character after the C and don't include the quotes). You will find variables like QINIC, METIC, HDIC, etc. These allow you to turn ON/OFF interpolation of inflows (QINIC), meteorology (METIC), and external boundary head elevations (HDIC). Note that not all variables that end in "IC " are interpolation control (LATPIC for instance)s. When you find a variable that ends in "IC ", check its description in Appendix C to see if it is an interpolation control. Tom[addsig]
