Model run error

Hi, all, I have problem on model There was no notification on error. During pre.w2, there is no error. And there is no error massage on w2.err and w2.wrn. When the model is executed, the execute window is activated and immediately disappear How can I solve this problem? Thanks Sincerely yours, Kyung Hwa Cho

Hi Kyung, Most likely the model goes immediately unstable and crashes before writing out any warning or error files. I'd check your initial water levels (in the bathymetry file) and make sure that they are fairly smooth and that all your branches have enough water at the start of the simulation. There should be at least one segment with water one layer deep in each branch at the beginning. chris

Hi, chris, I appreciate of your help. I have check the initial water elevation in Bathymetry file. There was enough water in every segments. Furthermore, pre.exe resulted in no errors and warnings massage. There was no massage in w2.err and w2.wrn. I want to cry. I have 3 years of experience for W2. But, it is first to see this error. Thanks -Kyung

Hi Kyung, Have you tried reducing DLTMAX? I'd also try comparing your control file with a control from a model that works. There could be some sort of error that the preprocessor doesn't find. chris

Hi, all, my problem is the same. I'm working with version 3.7. I have any error in the preprocessor, but when the model is executed, the execute window is activated and immediately disappearand (w2.err and w2.wrn are empty). How was this problem solved? Thanks so much! Tamara

Make sure that the model or preprocessor executable is located in the directory with the model files. Hope this helps, Chris

I am still facing this problem and I do not know how to solveit. Most likely I am doing a silly mistake. I am building a control file from the beginning. When running the bathymetry option using W2 preprocessor comes the message "file not found". I added the Reservoir directory inside the w2 preprocessor directory; then the w2_model directory; Still the same message. can you help me? Cris Fernandes

Hi Cris My suggestion is that you make a directory with all your npt files and then copy both the executable files(pre.exe and w2.exe) into that folder. Also check the name of bth file which is written at the end of your control file. check if the name that is provided for the bth file to the model is the same as the one you have in that directory. Hi, I am running the model, I faced the problem actually there are there errors as below: Timestep fraction [DLTF(1)=.000] <= 0.0 Pure water light extinction < 0.25 for waterbody 1 Short wave solar radiation absorption [BETA=.000] < 0.1 for waterbody 1 My problem is that not possible to use the digit number in the model, I will be thankful if you can help me to solve the problem.
