I am using CE-QUAL-W2 to examine nutrient and phytoplankton dynamics in a small estuary along the Oregon coast. I have collected inflow data at daily intervals for nutrients and chlorophyll-a, as well as weekly data inside the bay. For the ocean boundary condition, I collected water samples during flood tides. I would like some more information on the boundary condition for inflow of constituents. Specifically, I am wondering if tidal forcing is being used, are the nutrient boundary conditions only being imposed during flood tides (during periods of inflow) and during ebb tides (outflow) or high river flow conditions the constituents are allowed to flow out of the model domain and are not influenced by the specification of the inflow?
