rock dam

hi, i am simulating a river with a dam that was built from big rocks, the purpose of this dame to cause hight water level and still there is a flow threw it (it is a dam with hight permiability). what is the structure that i can simulate it. [addsig]

Well, this is one boundary condition that I never would have thought of. You can probably specify it as a structure with the centerline elevation midway between the water surface and the bottom. In the absence of any density stratification, water will be withdrawn evenly from top to bottom. However, you will have to know the flow from the permeable dam and specify it in the outflow file. Alternaltively, you can specify a spillway if the water level does not change. If neither of these options accurately describe what is going on in the prototype, then you will have to modify the code to allow specifying some percentage of the flow at the downstream segment as an outflow.[addsig]
