distributed tributaries

Hallo there, I have a lake which has two different (groundwater) inflows. 1st inflow of the groundwater and 2nd inflow of a deposit which is located on the bottom. Thus, the two inflows must be considered differently. I prefer to use the distributed tributary inflow approach. But I can not define a layer or an elevation which is very important. Due to the input of pollutants there is a high density over the bottom which must be considered. I would not like to define a tributary inflow for every segment. Could anybody help me, please? Hi Michaela, The way the code is set up now you can only specify one distributed tributary per branch. You can either alter the source code so that more than one distributed tributary can be used per branch (and also modify the code so that the inflow occurs in a specified elevation range), or use multiple point source tributaries. Hi Chris, I am not a Fortran programmer, so that's not possible for me to alter the code. I will decide to take the tributary option. But I thank you very much! My 2nd problem is the groundwater outflow. The lake is without running water - only groundwater outflow. The groundwater outflow I want to distinguish between two kinds of outflows. First the general groundwater outflow and a second groundwater outflow over the bottom (the water over the bottom has a lager density caused by the disposal on the bottom). I need this differentiation because we couple the lake model with a groundwater model (the groundwater model calculate the in- and outflows). The [QOUT] consider the overall outflow of the dam. Do you think it make sense to use the withdrawal option? I would set the [QOUT]= 0 in qot_br1.npt and define two selective withdrawal where I can determine the top and bottom of the two outflows.
