Example files or Tutorials

I just started working with the program and I could really use a tutorial or some more example files to practice with. I have not attended a workshop because this is just a trial to see if using this program is something our company wants to do. Also, can you create control files without using WMS or other software that must be purchased? I would appreciate ANY help, especially if anyone has more example files or a tutorial. Thank you. Nettie
