Optimization of Withdrawals for Target Downstream Temperature

In the 2006 W2 workshop Stewart made a presentation relating to a modification that they had made to W2 that allowed an optimization of withdrawals from multiple outlets. I believe that the method optimized the reservoir coldwater availability across the year while targeting a downstream temperatures. I also seem to recall that PSU had planned to incorporate something similar to this into the public release model. Is my recollection correct? Are there any similar plans for selective withdrawal functionality? Derek

Hi Derek, We plan to include a withdrawal optimization feature in a future release of the model, but so far it hasn't risen to the top of the list of things to do. I've mentioned to Scott that you've inquired about withdrawal optimization. We generally incorporate new features if there's funding available to do so or if we've incorporated a feature into the w2 as part of one of our projects. chris
