Preprocessor

A couple of very fundamental problems that I can't seem to correct. I am modeling only hydrodynamics and temperature. In running the preprocessor I am receiving the following error: forrtl: Server (159): Program Excpetion-breakpoint when the preprocessor reaches the kinetic coefficients cards. CCC is off. Additionally, I am experiencing difficulty with the GUI. It is only allowing me to "save as" and is only producing a partial control file, typically stopping prior to the SOD Demand Cards.

Heather, It sounds like you don't have the correct number of lines in the control file. The extra line (or maybe the error is caused by the absence of a line) probably occurs somewhere around the start of the kinetic coefficients. Make sure that the number of constituents listed in the 'CST ACTIVE' section corresponds to the # of constituents partially defined by NGC, NSS, NAL, NEP, NBOD and NZP at the top of the control file. Also check the constituents named in the graph.npt and make sure the list is consistent with those listed CST ACTIVE card. chris

I only want to model hydrodynamics and temperature for now so I have turned CCC off. However, the default file I am using (Degray W2i generated) has NGC NSS NAL NEP NBOD NMC NZP 4 3 3 1 3 0 1 When I set these all to 0 since I do not want to model water quality I start to get a lot of errors related to the active constituents list (preprocessor indicates I have illegal values). I try turning these illegal values OFF but it makes no difference (i.e. I turn OFF the constituents associated with NGC, NSS, NAL, etc) but I still get the error. I assume since CCC is OFF, I am not simulating water quality anyway, so my entries in NGC, NSS, NAL, etc are of no consequence for the moment. However, I do want to simulate water quality in the future. How do I go about changing the NGC, NSS, NAL, etc values without encountering this error? Thanks, Kristen
