Iron/Manganese Oxidation

I am looking for any suggestions for modeling a DO demand due to oxidation of iron. The release of iron is from spring floods ripping up a large sediment delta. Is this a possibility for future code? Is this a difficult modificaiton (chemical equilibrium)?
