Inflow Into Top Active Layer

I have a simple inflow problem that I cant seem to figure out. I have a reservoir with a branch inflow. The inflow will always flow into the upper most active layer as the reservoir level goes down over the summer. I know how to specify the inflow to go into a specific specific layer or layers, but how can I force the inflow to only go into the upper most active layer, a layer that will be gradually changing over the summer.

Thomas, When you have a flow boundary condition at the upstream end of a branch, the flow can be set to be distributed to all the active layers at the upstream segment (set the control file variable PQC to 'OFF') or the water will be placed in the layer that has the closest density to that of the inflow (PQC='ON'). There isn't a way to force the inflow to a specific layer. An internal weir somewhere near the upstream segment might be able to approximate this effect though. chris
