,
the GUI version i've dowloaded have a BIG problem on saving the W2_con.npt file. If i try it an error message appear and shut down GUI interface without saving the control file.
Is this bug already fixed

Hi Sandra,
It might be the version of GUI that you're using. The newest gui executable is dated 7/21/03. I'd suggest downloading the most recent gui and determining if the problem persists.
Note - the executable on the quick download site is dated 6/13/03 but it is identical to the one dated 7/21/03

Hi Chris,
i've done the update and used the newest version of GUI (6/13/03) but the problem persist. Could you please check and determine if the problem is with my PC settings or with GUI it self?
To reproduce that you just need to open w2control31.exe and select a new file, change one thing and select the disk button in the Menu to save.
If you select File (Menu)Save, the same problem happens.
Error message
Run-time error '75'
Path/File access error
The only way you can save the changes in the control file is selecting File (Menu)Save As, but once you do that it will be created a new file (w2_con.npt2) instead of my w2_con.npt file updated, and this happens every time i want to save the file (which lets me with a list of files w2_con.npt2... w2_con.npt6)
Another problem occurs. Every time a error message appears (even those refering out of range), when i close it the GUI shuts down.
Can you help?
Thank you very much,

I am not sure what original control file you are using. 1st run the W2 preprocessor which checks the w2_con.npt file - are there any errors? Did it run through? If the control file is messed up then that needs to be cleaned up before using the GUI. If you want to send me all your files (npt) zipped up I will take a look at it. [scott@cecs.pdx.edu]
Also, it looks like you are not clear on the back-up files w2_con.npt2 etc. These are the OLD copies of your original control files. The date stamp tells you when they were created. The NEW control file is the one without the number on the end of the file.

Hi Scott,
In other applications I did the control file "hand made", this time I'm using GUI to
construct a new control file (from the beginning) for a new application. And i'm
experimenting some difficulties (anterior post's) on saving the file and can't run the preprocessor if it's not ready yet. Can I use GUI to construct a control file from the beginning?
Related to back-up files, you're right i was mixing the old and the new copies. If i
understand it right, GUI create a new updated con file leaving the older ones with a new name (w2_con.npt2), and is the user who must delete the older files, is this right?
Thank you very much.
